PHILOSOPHY
Teaching
for me is about sharing the love of painting. I like to create
an environment which allows students to feel comfortable enough
to take the risks necessary to finding the creative spirit
within. Students are encouraged to find a style that is natural
to them and are given the tools to achieve success.
STUDENT
TESTIMONIALS
"Meeting with Jane has been a very joyful and enriching
experience. Under Jane's guidance, I have advanced way past
my wildest expectations. With her unique mixture of firmness,
humor and mature insight she guides each student with sensitivity
through the concise steps of developing a technique on which
the work becomes solidly based. To have her students put on
a full fledge public exhibition only seven months after the
very first class, with each student presenting five to seven
pieces is a testimonial of Jane's commitment to her art and
her masterful guidance."
Aud Sund
"Students
of Jane discover their own style and learn several techniques
and approaches towards painting. Very soon in the lessons
each student participates in the magic of discovery and satisfaction
of learning reaches beyond both Jane's and the students expectations."

"
You've really got your work cut out for you? said
I to Jane Findley at my first watercolor class with her two
years ago. I had never painted in my life before but had often
thought I would like to. What keeps me coming back to Jane's
class:
• her passion for art and her willingness to pass on
everything she knows about it
• hands on individual attention and problem solving
techniques
• honest, constructive, gentle critiques of my work
and my progress
• knowing how to promote growth in my work
• and most of all helping me to realize what has become
a lifelong joy – painting
Thanks Jane"
